At the moment, no。 But who knows I might give it another shot in the future。 。。。more

I loved this first book!! It was well written and the characters and story were well developed。 I loved the individual character personalities and the relationship dynamics that develop between them。 The story is action packed and full of twists and turns。 It has suspense, intrigue, emotion and hot chemistry。 I look forward to future books in this series 。 I’d highly recommend this book!!I received an arc for a voluntary review。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Decent enough read。 Della protects her brother who suffers from mental health issues。 Good writing to incorporate the challenges with mental health issues and how a lot of people react。 Della and her brother aren't in good standing with their coven, largely due to the negativity of feelings toward Della's brother。 He ends up starting some shit with the local shifter pack via an accident。 Della steps in to prevent her brother from getting hurt and ends up getting slashed by the Alpha Malone。 Long Decent enough read。 Della protects her brother who suffers from mental health issues。 Good writing to incorporate the challenges with mental health issues and how a lot of people react。 Della and her brother aren't in good standing with their coven, largely due to the negativity of feelings toward Della's brother。 He ends up starting some shit with the local shifter pack via an accident。 Della steps in to prevent her brother from getting hurt and ends up getting slashed by the Alpha Malone。 Long story short, Della turns into a hybrid witch/wolf which people thought was unlikely but an abomination nonetheless。 Why Della continually thinks a coven that's treated them like shit is going to somehow give a shit, baffles me。 Malone is an asshole。 I reject you。。 oh wait, I can't stay away。。。 no, I reject you。。。 quit being a douche and either leave Della alone or suck it up。 Didn't like the way that Della is all alpha strong to get any kind of love from Malone's pack。 。。。more

I’ll start off by saying I haven’t read many books with the ‘Rejected Mates’ theme but after reading the first chapter of this book I found that I needed to read more。 The inclusion of a prominent character with mental health issues really got my attention and the plot premise was very intriguing。 Della’s character resonated with me on a more personal level。 She is very strong emotionally, being the sole caretaker of her younger brother who struggles with schizophrenia as well as trying to live I’ll start off by saying I haven’t read many books with the ‘Rejected Mates’ theme but after reading the first chapter of this book I found that I needed to read more。 The inclusion of a prominent character with mental health issues really got my attention and the plot premise was very intriguing。 Della’s character resonated with me on a more personal level。 She is very strong emotionally, being the sole caretaker of her younger brother who struggles with schizophrenia as well as trying to live a productive life herself。 The first quarter of the book showcases this struggle and her determination to protect her brother at all costs。 Unfortunately I felt that once she turned into a werewolf and her mating bond took place, a lot of those qualities sat to the side。 Yes we do see bits of that strength and determination through-out, but it's almost as if her character is swallowed by the mating bond。I also want to note that the book only mentions that her brother has schizophrenia once, and the rest of the time she just says he has mental health problems。 Honestly, lean into the schizophrenia diagnosis。 Mental health is such a broad term and using it constantly when you have an actual diagnosis causes some of the dialogue to read funny。 In this world, a witch is supposed to be immune to the werewolf curse and in the case that one does turn it is considered illegal by both Pack laws and Coven laws and the person is supposed to be killed。 Obviously Della turns into a werewolf but no one really questions why or how it could have happened。 They just say it shouldn’t have been possible but oh well she’s gotta die。 I would have expected more tension with this revelation。 Instead, all of the tension was focused on the fact Della was Malone’s mate but they couldn’t be together。 I thought that both Della and Malone were interesting characters, but outside of the fact they were mates I didn’t feel much chemistry between them。 When it comes to the Fated Mate scenario, I always think ‘If they didn’t have this bond would they still be together?’。 In this case I would have to say no。 Other than them lusting after each other there weren’t any scenes that made me feel they would be compatible outside of the bedroom。 There were hints of course, but nothing fully fleshed out。 Overall I wish the books had slowed the Mate Bond down a bit and had more emphasis on the tension between the Coven and the Pack, Della and the Coven, and built up Della and Malone’s relationship more (outside of the lust)。 I get that it is a Rejected Mates book so the emphasis should be on their bond but I still feel the plot should have shone a little bit more。 I did enjoy the book though and will be picking up the next one。 。。。more

Was okI was hoping for more, It felt like the issue with mental health was over used, I liked how the author wanted to raise awareness but practically every 5 minutes it would repeat that drake had mental issues so I feel it was too much, plus she wasn’t really rejected so that was a let down, I don’t want to discredit any author as I appreciate people that can write books in general。 This book was missing way to much of everything for me。

What would never be expected。 Well I have to admit this book took me totally by surprise, it has the appearance of a usual fated mates novel, but definitely got a different approach to what should occur between fated mates, when that mate is not one of their own。Mason in many ways has allowed the rules of the older generation to poison his own beliefs, ready to be the type of alpha he had been brought up to believe in and follow the rules of, even if those beliefs and rules were not aligned with What would never be expected。 Well I have to admit this book took me totally by surprise, it has the appearance of a usual fated mates novel, but definitely got a different approach to what should occur between fated mates, when that mate is not one of their own。Mason in many ways has allowed the rules of the older generation to poison his own beliefs, ready to be the type of alpha he had been brought up to believe in and follow the rules of, even if those beliefs and rules were not aligned with his own personal beliefs。So when a situation occurs where Della a witch from a covern that had issues with his pack, tried to explain why an accident had occured that effected one of his pack members he reacted far too harshly and jumped to conclusions, assuming incorrectly that Della had acted as a declaration for war rather that a simple misunderstanding that got blown out of proportion, causing his Wolf to react as if being challenged and automatically attacked the threat。Della who had always protected her brother stepped in between Mason and Drake and ended up getting swiped by the werewolf, which was rather painful but should be fine due to her being a witch, well as is often the way nothing went the way it should and suddenly everything Della knew about life and being a witch is suddenly changed over night when she turns becoming the first witch hybrid while also finding her powers had become much stronger making her almost the most powerful witch around, that really shouldn't be a problem should it。。。。。。。well it seems as though it becomes a major issue for both witches and pack members, was she going to be able to start afresh somewhere new with Drake or will she need to watch her back to stay safe whole waiting for Drake to finish his treatment。 I found myself getting a little teary eyed a few times throughout the book as Della dealed with the emotions and trauma of her turning and what that did to her。It's easy to relate to the emotional pain she goes through and Ms Medhurst has written this storyline in such a way that its impossible to not feel the pain she is going through。 Not a long read but definitely hard to put down so grab a copy and jump straight into the crazy world of the Wolf witches life。 。。。more

A spectacular new series by Rachel Medhurst!! We’ve seen hybrids before, but never done like this!! Loved it。 I mean there was a lot of drama so i wish there was more cute or lovely stuff so fingers crossed the next book will actually have more romance or couple scenes since most of this book was quick dramatic exchanges between the two and not in the fun enemies to lovers way but in the ugh when are we gonna get to the good part sorta way。 So in that realm it was pretty rough id say this wouldve been better as a prequel or the first half of a book idk depends on ehen the next will be released Loved it。 I mean there was a lot of drama so i wish there was more cute or lovely stuff so fingers crossed the next book will actually have more romance or couple scenes since most of this book was quick dramatic exchanges between the two and not in the fun enemies to lovers way but in the ugh when are we gonna get to the good part sorta way。 So in that realm it was pretty rough id say this wouldve been better as a prequel or the first half of a book idk depends on ehen the next will be released if its in a month then it fits a sorta acceptable serial vibe if its in like 6 months or something insane like a regular book then yeah nah its not up to the cut as far as first books go。 For story and romance anyway i still enjoyed it a lot and i cant wait for the next book IF it drops the first book complicated drama sorta mess that most establishing books tend to be since this was defs a whole lot of angsty mc angst。 Hence why it wouldve been nice if was more balanced and less frustration pain politics nonsense。 Which is great for a in depth world and story but i mean this is primarily a fantasy mate romance and even that was lackluster in a few areas。 So yeah overall i like it it has heaps of potential had some good like morals i guess you could say wasnt super sunshiney roses magical perfection which can be good but i like that this had some grit and a bit more i suppose deserved happiness but yeah more romance more happy less politic jealous exes drama bs。 I sick of the mean girl bs especially when its used as drama for the sake of drama same goes for the convenient trouble for the sake of it like i swear there was like 6 enemies slash arseholes in this book alone and nothing went right and it wasnt just once or twice and a lot was like super set up like oh she happens to run into his mortal enemy and ex girlfriend and a truth seeking witch and she shores up all defenses and is powerful af but for some reason they decide to fail and where not given any reason why and the main reason shes kicked is because wolf witch is evil but we never get an explanation as to why thats not allowed and the main reason shes in trouble is pack coven tensions and is expelled but then the witches just decide fuck it lets just start a war anyway? Likewhat。 The familiar is mentioned but never properly like in the book or explained its just used as an excuse to want to go back to the apartment and like she could easily get teleported if need be at any point but just hangs around the exiled people are trying to kill me place for funsies? Like no i refuse to accept this level of story again ive read amazing book and series that havent been sucked into stereotypical tv drama hooks like cliffhangers and love triangles and whatnot and i cant go back to this nonsense unless its outweighed by the feel good with it and this individual book and the first book of a series so somewhat free pass on its condition is very much going head first into that realm and i sincerely please book gods hope to hell the next book proves me wrong and is way less messy and more like solid and stuff cause if weve gone from brighton bs to packland bs itll just be same shit different day vibes and i just no thankyou。 Like prejudice is good for stories yes but what reasons? Like theres no real like world building other than the vague werewolves and witches exist and humans kinda know but dont know vibe。 Like。。。 im gonna need more to go off of dude maybe not in a typical mate romance but theres is like political societal implosion taboo shit and i need to know the society politics backstory and feelings behind why to know the deal。 Im not for info dumping but i prefer it to being on shaky wtf is going on ground like i dont like being clueless in real life i certainly dont like the inception feeling thats evoked in books that are just like blah all up in your face and youre left like what? Like what am i supposed to feel rn cause ive been pulled in every direction then chucked on a merry go round and then expected to like have my wits about me enough to know wtf is going on。 Same goes for the brother original angle but like ? As if she wouldnt call the doc immediately why bother going for a train and waiting to get out of dodge if you can teleport? Like??? Are you dumb? I dont get her actions? Like you wont defend yourself when i wolf your apparent enemy tries to kill you so you can stick around and save a life and some dudes why trying to rape you but nah let him live so he can come back around in another book like a bad smell but your so called coven attack and its like all out angst and defence? Save for one time when you were legit like in a cage knowing youd be killed type deal but holding back and same goes for the alpha like trying to stop her from killing the threat of the witches who legit just tortured her were gonna kill her brother etc etc but nah let them live so they can hurt or kill you another day。 Like they both arent soft so why suddenly is it lik thou shall not kill? When they have all rights to? Like someone explain it to me。 Nah dont my head already hurts and i dont care enough。 Seriously if i didnt like the concept thats laid out in the blurb for the story and the sort of enemies to lovers vibe then i wouldnt like this book AT ALL。 Ikr why give it 4 stars then。 Because i want to believe in the series i want it to be encouraged to be 4 stars all on its own the next book and be the awesome series it has the potential to be。 If it doesnt then ill be dropping the next book at the first sign of dumb hs drama bs。 If theyre adults they should be adults bro。 Leave the immature shit for the school yard and young dumb romance。 。。。more
